Planning Walt Disney World Vacations The Right Way

Walt Disney World vacations appeal not only to children but adults as well. There is always something for everyone and Disney vacations can become a memorable experience for everyone. This is probably the biggest reason for its popularity and why families continue to return even after being there several times over the years.

Planning Walt Disney vacations in advance is essential not only to reduce the resulting financial burden but also to ensure that you get the most out of the time there.

If you are seriously thinking of Walt Disney vacations, then you have to consider doing a plan well in advance. Do research online to help you understand what a Walt Disney vacation is all about. An important thing to keep in mind is that Walt Disney World Vacations are very pricey; the prices vary depending on the time of year you want to travel. Disney is busier at particular times of the year than others. Work out your budget and choose to go to Disneyland or Disney World during the off-season. This way, you will be able to get a better deal. Once you have your budget, you can book a vacation right on Disney's website.

There are other online travel sites that offer special Disney vacation packages which include airfare and hotels. Since Disneyland and Disney World are such hot vacation spots, there is always a good deal to be found for a bargain hunter whether you travel during peak seasons or not. It is, however, better to travel during the less busy times whenever possible.

The joy of a Walt Disney World vacation is that no matter how many times you have experienced it, the feeling is unique every time. The way to protect your considerable investment in a Disney vacation is to stay happy and have a good time. When planning your trip to Disney, do note the special park events that go on throughout the year. For example, attractions such as concerts for children or special character appearances that are not part of Disney's regular attractions can be a real treat and bonus for your trip.

Keep a lookout for Disney anniversary specials. Catching attractions and specials that do not happen all the time not only makes your investment worthwhile, it also helps to create unique and wonderful vacation memories that are much more fun for you and your family.

Walt Disney World vacations are, by far, vacation experiences suitable for the young and the old to enjoy and have a boatload of fun. With just a little planning, you can enjoy great saving deals on your next Disney vacation.

A Brief History of Disney World

Although it is now one of the largest corporations in the world, the Walt Disney Company started as a small animation studio in the garage of Walt and Roy Disney’s grandfather. This tiny venture was founded on October 16, 1923 – and in 2006, Walt Disney’s company had grown to revenues of $34.3 billion.

The first project the Disney brothers worked on was a series entitled Alice’s Wonderland, and in 1925, Walt Disney World convinced his brother to rename the studio to Walt Disney Studios. After several smaller successes and failures, the first Mickey Mouse cartoons Plane Crazy and Steamboat Willie were released to audiences in 1928. As it was the first cartoon with sound to achieve popularity, Walt Disney was able to expand his ventures a year later into three additional companies: Walt Disney Enterprises, Disney Film Recording Company, and Liled Realty and investment Company.

Over the next several years, what would become some of Disney World most beloved characters were introduced: Pluto in 1930, Goofy in 1932, and Donald Duck in 1934. It was in 1937 that the studio’s first feature-length animation film was released, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and it made history books by being the first animated feature film ever produced. The next year, Walt Disney merged all of his companies under one title, Walt Disney Productions, and in 1940 the production house released both Pinocchio and Fantasia.

As the studio began to grow, the United States’ foray into World War II caused a slowdown in film production as Disney was instead contracted to create morale-boosting government propaganda. The next 10 years were relatively slow for Disney, and films created were solely low budget or took years to produce – Bambi was in production for 6 years before its theatrical release. In 1950, the company was revived with the release of Cinderella, and 1952 saw Walt Disney begin to plan the Walt Disney World Productions theme park.

It wasn't until 1967 that work actually began on the theme park, though it had certainly helped that the company went public ten years prior. The Walt Disney World Resort opened in Orlando, Florida in 1971, and Disney began to make its foray into live-action films. Although there were many ups and downs in the years following Walt’s death, the company continued to make a name for itself and forge ahead to new grounds. While there have been plenty of roadblocks in the new millennium – such as the controversy over CEO Michael Eisner’s policies and several hostile bid takeover attempts – the company has managed to push through to continue holding its place as one of the largest and most influential companies on the planet.

Disney World Dining - When To Start Booking

Have you ever wondered why your favorite restaurant in Disney World was booked up before you even got a chance to make a reservation? Have you ever thought to yourself why many of the dining locations in Disney World book up so fast? Well, you're not the only one.

Walt Disney World is the most visited and largest recreational resort in the world. Millions of people visit there each year, so you can just imagine what the resort looks like on a day to day basis. Because of the significant amount of people, and the fact that they all have to eat, Disney's restaurants tend to fill up quite fast. This is especially true with the character dining restaurants. I mean what kid doesn't want to dine with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Cinderella and the whole gang?

If you want to be on top of things and the one with a definite reservation, then you need to book early. At the time of this writing, you can book your Disney dining reservations up to 90 days out. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you get the priviledge of booking 90 days out plus 10 additional days.

Booking might be a tad easier for families who have planned their vacation, and it might be a bit rough on families who just go at the last minute. Booking in advance gives you a better chance of obtaining the dining reservations that you want. But if you happen to find yourself on the outside looking in, don't panic. There are a few things you can do.

Guests do cancel, so try calling back at a later time to see if anything is available. Some restaurants have cancellation policies so if guests don't cancel within the right time frame, they will be charged. If that doesn't help, you can always try walking up to the restaurants and checking on availability. From time to time, the podium will have last minute cancellations, which gives you the opportunity to slide in.

As long as you remember to book as soon as your 90 day window opens you will be fine. Remember, Disney World is a busy place and they have to accommodate thousands of people each day, so make sure you're on your p's and q's when booking your Disney World dining reservations.

How Safe Are Disney World Resorts?

It's very important to keep an eye on your children at all times whenever you are in an unfamiliar place. Knowing where your kids are at all times is crucial to their safety. Even in the safest of environments there can be some uncertainty when there are strangers around, that being said, people feel much more confident about their family's safety when they are in a place that is very concerned with the safety of its patrons.

The Disney World Resorts are among the most widely visited and popular family vacation destinations in the world. Year after year families from just about every corner of North America and beyond put their sites on a Disney Vacation, and this didn't happen by accident. It's Disney's focus to be the top rated and most popular group of resorts on the planet and they certainly wouldn't hold that title for long by not considering safety to be one of their biggest priorities.

People can't totally cut loose and have fun if they are worried for any reason on their vacation. That's why Disney is so concerned about the safety and security of all of the visitors to their theme parks. Disney has a number of security personnel patrolling the park and they offer extra amenities for the safety of their guests' possessions, like the inclusion of in room safes in hotel rooms.

How They Keep You Safe

Disney World has security personnel at varying locations all throughout their parks and if an emergency should arise, such as losing track of a child, any cast member (Disney theme park employee) can and will provide assistance.

Disney has a very serious training program that their employees take part in that educates on all aspects of safety. The program more than meets the standards of training in the industry and has specific focuses on dealing with injuries that have occurred as well as injury prevention to ensure that all guests and coworkers are taken care of as well as can be expected regardless of the situation.

There are also several small first aid stations located at various points throughout all of Disney's amusement parks where guest can get treatment for minor injuries and ailments free of charge and where guests can have a place to escape the heat and re-hydrate if necessary.

Ride Safety

Disney has safety precautions in place for their amusements in order to keep park patrons safe. There are minimum height requirements of some amusements to keep children safe and more detailed precautions on other rides that may be dangerous to those with pre-exiting conditions, like heart trouble or high blood pressure.

Car Problems

Many visitors to the Disney theme parks make the long trek to get there in their cars. If you are at the park and having car trouble all you have to do is raise your hood and leave it open and park security will be by to provide assistance.

Beyond the Park

Disney is so concerned with the safety of it's patrons that their efforts aren't limited to the inside of the park. Disney has implemented several programs in an effort to keep children safe, the latest of which is a partnership with the Underwriters Laboratories to educate kids on safety in there own homes when it comes to things like fire, electricity and surfing the internet.

Even with Disney World employee training programs and constant focus on the safety of it's patrons in and outside of the theme park walls some unfortunate instances can still occur, but if part of your decision on booking a vacation stems on how concerned a company is with you and your families safety, Disney should easily be at the top of your list.

What's New at Florida's Disney World?

The late Walt Disney World took pride in imagination and innovation, and his successors are trying to live up to that legacy. That's why you can expect to find something new at Disney World each year. If you are planning a visit to Orlando, Central Florida and Disney World this summer, then read on and find out about some new additions to the famed the theme park.

The first thing that might catch your eye this summer is the reopening of the Hall of the Presidents. There will be a new addition, President Barrack Obama whose Audio-Animatronics replica will join those of the previous 43 presidents. This high-tech trip through American history has been part of Disney World since its opening in 1971 and the Disney "imagineers" are hard at work adding new elements (besides President Obama) to the current show.

Are you ready to join the Pirates League? Well, beginning in late June you will be able to get your chance in Adventure land where a "recruiting office" for the Pirates League will be set up. Recruits will get a pirate name, beard, eye patch, scarves, earrings, and even gold teeth. Once you take the pirate oath you will be sent out on an adventure in Adventureland. Pirates League packages start at $49.95 plus tax.

Speaking of pirates, Disney World Caribbean Beach Resort now offers pirate-themed accommodations. More than 300 rooms now have ship-themed beds and pirate décor.

This year (2009) there is also a new dining option at Disney World Animal Kingdom. It is Picnic in the Park al fresco dining. The "take-out" meal includes sandwiches or chicken and includes side dishes, dessert and bottled water for each guest. A meal for three costs $24.99. The picnic meals can be ordered near the park entrance and picked up (within two hours at the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery located within the park).

At the close of the day's activities you can also take park in a party. Cast members, such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy, gather near the entrance of Disney's Kindom each evening as the park closes. It's called the Adventurers' Celebration Gathering and it is a street party where guest join in conga line dancing as the Disney characters drum out the beat from their safari vehicle.

Another new sight in the skies over Disney World is Characters in Flight. This is a tethered hot air balloon that is decorated with images of Disney characters such as Tinkerbell, Dumbo and Peter Pan. The red and yellow balloon reaches heights of 400 feet above Downtown Disney providing guests with a panoramic view. Tickets for the balloon ride are $16 for age 10 and up, and $10 for children between 3 and 9. The balloon's gondola holds 30 people at a time and the duration of the trip is six minutes. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you touch down from your balloon ride you might also want to check out a new restaurant in Downtown Disney. Located on Pleasure Island, Paradiso 37 features the cuisine of 37 different countries of North, Central and South America. The new restaurant is open from 11:00 AM till the late night and also features nightly entertainment.

When you visit Disney World take a look at the new features and make your visit a bit different from the last time.

Visit Disney World For a Captivating Experience!

All of us look forward to a perfect Disney world vacation, but it is not so easy to plan such a grand holiday without any prior information about the place particularly the Disney world resorts. The Disney world Orlando is nothing less than a magical place and a vacation to such a wonderful location definitely needs proper planning. One of the most enchanting recreational areas, the Disney resorts, built across the world, are one of the most visited attractions in the world.

The Disneyland resorts and parks were conceived as a part of the Walt Disney Attractions after the foundation of the Walt Disney world resort. The original Disneyland Park in California was renamed Disneyland Resort once the whole area was converted into a complete fun world with the addition of features like new resorts, entertainment and dining district as well as Downtown Disney retail outlets.

Along with the Magic Kingdom in Orlando that is designed in a similar layout as the Disneyland Park in California, there is the Disney World Resort, as a part of the whole creation. This Disney world Orlando is built on a larger space and has twenty resorts, entertainment and shopping complex, two water parks, four theme parks and eight golf courses. Analogous to these two resorts, there is the Disneyland Resort in Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Of all the various Disneyland resorts, the Walt Disney World Resort is the most popular Disneyland vacation. The major attractions of the place are the theme parks that are represented by unique iconic structures. For instance, one of the theme parks, The Magic Kingdom has Cinderella castle as its main theme. Likewise, Spaceship Earth represents Epcot, the Sorcerer's Hat is built as a part of Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Tree of Life is the main attraction of the Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Other than the theme parks, there is the Blizzard Beach, the Disney's Boardwalk, Disney's Wedding Pavilion, Typhoon Lagoon, Downtown Disney, Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex and Walt Disney World Speedway. The Downtown Disney is quite popular with the tourists and is divided into three different sections - the West Side, the Marketplace and the Pleasure Island. The extremely popular golf courses are the Palm, the Osprey Ridge, the Magnolia and the Lake Buena Vista. The place also includes a walking course by the name Oak Trail designed specially for the youth.

The entire place has a lot of dining, shopping as well as entertainment venues. The nightclubs, restaurants, theaters and indoor arcades make it a real happening place. The classic attractions, the most loved Disney characters and the exciting fairy tale adventure makes the place an unavoidable vacation destination.

Staying at the Disney World resorts is sure to turn your fantasy into reality. The splendid parades, the fireworks, the funny monsters, the pirates, the picturesque mountains are few of the spectacled delights that you can experience at the place. The Walt Disney world will be a vacation you would never want to miss.
